3F position plate weld using E6010 and E7018 electrodes will be
administered. Detailed instructions will be provided prior to the
contest. (10”x 2”x 3/8” plate)
Safety:
Contestants
must wear long pants (no holes or frays), work boots (no gym type
shoe), long sleeve shirt in addition to welding jacket or sleeves,
chromer type head protection, leather welding gloves, safety glasses
and if wearing prescription glasses they must have side shields. Power
tools will not be allowed.
Contestant Required Tools:
Contestants
will bring their own welding hood, safety glasses, chipping hammer,
pliers or channel locks. All other materials and tools will be provided
by Local 597.
